My Road..

My life
is a
crazy, hectic, insane roller coaster ride and on this journey I am learning everyday how to love the Lord, myself, and others. My Jesus said in Matthew 11:29, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." And that is my exact mission. I want to follow God, learn constantly and my goal is to become gentle, humble and peaceful in every aspect of this life. I have an amazing story so far... but God is no where near showing me or the world the ending. :) I am a daughter, smiler, girlfriend, lover, writer, blogger, friend, sister, painter, gardener and I LOVE who I am. On this journey I have one prayer and that is to: "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."-Psalms 143:8

I am unsure, unfinished... and I am happy.
I am Kelsey.

The Epitome of Thoughtfulness.

The other night I was at Waffle house with four of the most incredible people in this world. :) We just randomly went on short notice to grab a quick bite to eat. While we were talking about life and love and relationships, our kind, older waitress Teresa was so patiently serving us. She was "johnny-on-the-spot" about getting our drinks and taking our orders. A superb waitress indeed. But quite unnoticed by myself as I was engaging in the conversation and searching for what I was going to order.

As Teresa finished taking our orders and began to quickly refill our drinks the most incredible thing happened. My incredible friend Alex quietly looked up and said, "Excuse me ma'am, is there anything we can pray for you about?"    My heart stopped. My mind began racing. I fought to hold back small tears. It BLEW my mind that during all we were consumed with Alex took the time to think about the person serving us.

Mrs. Teresa paused, I think she was a bit startled to be truthful. But it was a good shock. She quietly returned saying. "Yes please. My brother has leukemia and he's really not doing well." You could see the amount of pain she was feeling in her face. Her eyes were drowning in sorrow and her heart was heavy. She kindly said thank you and began to walk away.  Kirk said, let's pray.

Kirk prayed humbly and gently and beautifully. He thanked God for having amazing friends like us, he thanked God for the food and who was preparing it, he then prayed specifically for Mrs. Teresa and her brother as they were going through such a rough time. He prayed for healing hands over her brother and prayed for peace for everyone in the situation. He prayed for understanding as God's will was being done.  It was one of the most moving prayers and moments I've ever been apart of.

I continued to eat and we continued our initial conversation, but throughout the next few days I kept remembering what magnificent thoughtfulness Alex had. Our world would be such a better place if all of us thought of others like Alex thought of Teresa. He was paying her to provide food, drink, and service for Him. But instead he turned that service around to inquire about her emotional and spiritual needs. That is amazing. I hope everyone reading this will remember to check on others, believe in others, love on strangers, and invest time and energy into people.

Thank you Alex.... I learned an incredible lesson :)
